The Big Nothing (often abbreviated TBN) is an Indie/Alternative Rock band formed in Tokyo in 2010. Members came from all parts of the world and united in Tokyo with a mutual passion for music and partying.
TBN have been gigging regularly around Tokyo playing their original alternative rock with a pop flavor that showcases melodies and vocal harmonies. We could list their various influences, but the eclectic musical backgrounds of TBN’s members and hours spent pondering the mysteries of the universe (with and without alcohol) fused to create a sound that they call their own. In the end, it’s best to come hear for yourself, so if you’re in the area, come party with The Big Nothing at the next show.
The Big Nothing（略TBN ）は2010年に5人で結成されたインディーズロックバンドです。 世界各地から集まったメンバーですが、音楽に対する共通の情熱が我々をバンド結成に導いてくれました。 TBNは、メロディーとボーカルのハーモニーを強調したポップ調のオルタナティブ·ロックの演奏で、東京を中心に定期的にライブ活動を行っています。さまざまな音楽背景を持つメンバーが大抵は酔っ払いながら、時にはシラフの状態でも宇宙の謎について長時間の議論を重ねた結果、ユニークなサウンドを生みだしました。 近くにお越しの際は、The Big Nothingのライブに立ち寄って一緒に盛り上がりましょう！
History:
Formed in Tokyo Japan in August 2010 by Rob Gray, Kurt Schussler, Jim Stellato, and Scott VanDusen.
First gig was at Penguin House on November 7th, 2010.
First album was release on June 1st, 2013.
After the album was released Jim Sellato had to go back to NYC and retired from the band.
First music video released on July 10th, 2013.
Thom Peace joined the band on the bass and debuted at Gamuso Chroma on October 19, 2013.
On January 2014 Kurt Schussler retired from the band.
On November 2013 Ken Zachow joined the band on the keyboards. After Kurt left Ken shifted to the guitars. Debuted at Roppongi Pink Cow on June 29, 2014.
At the end of 2014 Miho Iioka joined us as a special guess on the percussion.
Rie Takai joined the band on January 2015 on the Keyboards and debuted live on February 7th, at Shibuya Garret Udagawa.
Rie Takai, Rob Gray and Thom retired from the band after the last gig on January 22nd, 2016 at RubyRoom.
The final album “Hear Today” that was recorded on 2015 was released on July 21st, 2017.The Big Nothing
